Information Graphics

The Task:

Create a poster and interactive model with infographics covering an important social issue. I opted to cover the current unemployment crisis that new graduates are facing.

I knew that I wanted to use sticky notes as my primary motif very early, so with the first poster drafts I was primarily focused on finding the best composition to make the flow of information easiest to take in. I added a crumpled paper texture late

With the interactive model wireframes, I wanted to keep the same design system but adjusted for computer screens. I felt that a fun way to make the system interactive would be to fold the sticky notes, and have the user unfold them to reveal the mode

Graphic Explorations

Fonts & Color Palette

The typeface I chose for this project is Univers Next Pro. In earlier drafts I used the ExtraBlack weight, but found it to ultimately be too blocky. Univers provides a professional but versatile sans serif that is legible and readable across varying weights and distances. The colors featured are the blue, pink, green, yellow, and orange that come in a Post-Its variety pack.
